Debs belted out some songs for the Palmy Celebrity Christmas Band at Christmas in The Square this weekend, alongside Bullfrog Rata (gat), Duncan McCann (bass), Ben Bell-Booth (drums), Stephen Bell-Booth (keys), Dean Parkinson (sax), Tim Cook (trumpet), and the PNC Gospel Choir (chorus). It’s probably the only time anyone will ever hear her sing Mariah Carey.
The weather was glorious at sound check in the morning, and it’s hard to believe it bucketed down just after 5:00 pm as the event kicked off. All the performers hit the stage looking a little bedraggled, but hardcore Palmy people stayed and enjoyed the occasion regardless of the rain.
We had a lot of fun and met some fantastic people who came up to talk to Debs after the performance. We love ya, Palmy! Have a great Christmas and stay safe over the holidays.
